2021年より、JETプログラムで来日し、本校のALTとして授業を担当してくださいったSayaka Vaules先生が、任期満了で帰国されることになりました。4年間大変お世話になりました。

Dear Tonjo students,

I hope you’re enjoying your summer break and finding time not only to study, but also to rest and have fun!

The time has come for my next adventure, and so I must say goodbye to Tokyo Joshi Gakuen—and to Japan. I hope this is more of a “see you again” than a final “goodbye.”

Change can be scary, but in my experience, it has always helped me grow. I remember how nervous I was when I first came to Japan four years ago! But by challenging myself and stepping outside my comfort zone, I had the chance to meet amazing students and teachers, create many precious memories, spend time with my family, experience Japanese culture, meet my fiancé, and gain more confidence in myself because I did something new to the best of my abilities.

As you go through life, I think you will also face many new—and sometimes scary—challenges. When that happens, I hope you remember that your teachers, classmates, the alumni of Tokyo Joshi Gakuen, and I are always cheering for you! All you can do is try your best; I will too!
